itihasam  imam  guhyam  bhagavan  kumbha-sambhavah,



kathayam  asa  malaya  asino  harim  arcayan.



itihasam  =  history;

imam  =  this;

guhyam  =  very confidential;

bhagavan  =  the most powerful;

kumbha-sambhavah  =  Agastya Muni, the son of Kumbha;

kathayam  asa  =  explained;

malaye  =  in the Malaya Hills;

asinah  =  residing;

harim arcayan  =  worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead.



When the great sage Agastya, the son of Kumbha, was residing in the Malaya Hills and worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I approached him, and he explained to me this confidential history.
